As a Forbes’ Best Employers for Diversity in 2023, Oracle thrives on diverse perspectives.

They believe in hiring and developing top talent to help them solve the world’s biggest challenges. Oracle works to build a tech sector that truly values everyone. They also need software engineers who are ready to make an impact, demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and take ownership. With its focus on hands-on learning and diverse, high-quality interns—Ada Developers Academy was the ideal fit.

Changing the face of tech is a win-win

In addition to recruiting underrepresented groups in tech, they wanted to provide hands-on training to develop this new talent which would benefit not only the interns and the company but the industry and market as a whole. They wanted to help change the face of tech.

We wanted to bring in underrepresented groups in tech and develop new talent that’s added to the market that will benefit everyone. When I met with Ada, I was immediately enamored with the premise of the internship program. The companies benefit, and the interns get hired.

Ada provides high-quality, engineering talent

Since Oracle started working with Ada Developers Academy in 2021, they have hired over 30 of our interns.

“I keep doing it every year because the interns are always outstanding,” said Nicholas.

What sets Ada apart from other programs is their work experience and maturity.

Ada interns are universally more mature and come in with more industry experience. They’ve been in the workforce for some time as opposed to workers just out of college. Another benefit is their ability to demonstrate leadership values.

Diversity training for managers

Oracle also liked that Ada provided DEI training for their managers and mentors. This training covers social justice, equity in the workplace, and inclusive leadership to create a team environment where all team members can thrive.

It’s awesome and not every day that partners provide that DEI training upfront.

Oracle continues their work with Ada and commitment to finding and developing diverse talent from underrepresented groups, which benefits everyone.
