FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW IS ADA DIFFERENT FROM OTHER EMERGING TALENT PROGRAMS AND BOOTCAMPS?

As a free nonprofit bootcamp, we center our work around the diverse communities that need access into this industry the most. For-profit bootcamps can be cost prohibitive and often struggle to reach diversity targets as they attempt to message themselves as highly competitive and desirable, which can dissuade minorities from applying or exclude them from consideration. Our 95% placement rate, manager training program, and candidate screening process ensures our interns are successful at your company.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our students are coming from all over the US to learn in a virtual classroom environment; however, their internship location can vary based on our partner’s needs. While our program is national, most intern assignments are in Seattle, but we have also had various needs to place interns in Atlanta, Austin, Nashville, DC Metro (DMV), as well as remote locations.
Our company partnership cost can vary depending on engagement level and duration of the commitment. It typically includes a student receiving six-months of virtual classroom training and five 5-month of applied learning through an internship assignment. Ada is a non-profit organization, with a majority of program funding coming from company partners and our philanthropy efforts.
Cohorts happen twice a year.
Ada interns are unique. They go through a rigorous 6 month classroom training and oftentimes, this is their 2nd or 3rd career where they can bring their real world experience to the job. The average age of Ada interns is 30 years old and they are passionate about tech and have the “power skills” including communication, determination and a growth mindset which are much harder to teach.
